At 500 Gallivan Boulevard in Boston, Expedited Engineering LLC provided civil engineering design and site permitting services in close collaboration with the architecture team at DRT. Situated on a constrained urban parcel, the project required careful alignment between site limitations, building design, and municipal review requirements.

Expedited Engineering led the Article 37 Small Project Review process through the City of Boston and managed the overall site plan permitting effort. A comprehensive stormwater management system was developed to effectively handle roof runoff and surface drainage within limited site space, meeting City standards while supporting the architectural vision.

Given the tight footprint, utility coordination was critical; our team worked closely with the architectural and building trades teams to seamlessly integrate sewer, stormwater, water, electrical, and gas services.

The project also required thoughtful access and circulation planning, including design of a driveway to an underground parking garage serving residents of the building. In addition, we coordinated accommodations for adjacent property access related to a relocated dumpster pad, ensuring operational functionality for the new construction and adjacent pub without compromising the site layout.

Expedited Engineering completed site plan review with the Boston Water and Sewer Commission and coordinated with Boston Parks and Recreation due to the site’s proximity to a public park. Throughout the process, we served as the civil lead, managing agency coordination and working hand-in-hand with the broader design team to move the project efficiently from concept through approval.
